What is Mesotherapy?

“Mesotherapy uses very fine needles that are injected into the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin.”

Mesotherapy is a technique that uses plant extracts, vitamins, enzymes, and hormones to help remove excess fat and tighten your skin. This procedure rejuvenates your skin, and helps you keep that youthful glow. Mesotherapy uses very fine needles that are injected into the mesoderm, or middle layer of the skin. This helps inflammation and blood circulation. The formula used can be a combination of many substances mixed together, and this can be customized to each person.

What Substances Are Used in Mesotherapy?

  • Herbal extracts

  • Vitamins and minerals

  • Enzymes such as collagenase or hyaluronidase

  • Hormones

  • Prescription medicines or antibiotics

What Can I Expect During Mesotherapy?

During mesotherapy topical numbing cream can be applied if you are sensitive to treatments. In most cases numbing cream is not needed. The mixture of substances is injected into your skin using a mechanical gun. The injections are done at different depths depending on what are you are treating, and help to destroy fat cells. During the treatment the needle enters the skin, and tiny drops of the solution are inserted into the mesoderm. Multiple mesotherapy sessions at least a week apart are required to achieve results.

Mesotherapy is considered an alternative to liposuction, and helps to remove excess fat. Mesotherapy injections can help reduce fatty deposits in the neck, arms, back, stomach, or any areas in need of treatment. This procedure is less invasive, and costs much less compared to liposuction. There is still further research needed to test mesotherapy to determine how effective this treatment is at removing fat. Mesotherapy can also help with pain and hair loss.

Are There Any Risks or Downtime With Mesotherapy?

Risks are minimal with mesotherapy, and there is little to no downtime after treatment. You may experience some sensitivity, redness, or bruising around the area, but this should subside after a few days. Most people can return to their daily routine directly after treatment.
