What Is Fascia Blasting or Fascia Manipulation?

Fascia is a layer of tissue that covers our bones, muscles, organs, and nerves. This layer is made up mostly of collagen and forms our bodies. Fascia is flexible, and allows our bodies to move and stretch, and perform our every day activities. If you have inflammation in a certain area of your body, this can cause the fascia to tighten and cause pain. Cellulite is also related to fascia, and happens when the skin is pulled down, and appears dimpled due to fat cells collecting between the fibrous tissues.

Facia blasting is a way to manipulate your fascia tissue. Typically, this is done using a hard tool that is called a FasciaBlaster. The tool looks like a stick with small claw like feet that stick out from the edges. Fascia blasters are meant to be used all over the body to help loosen up the fascia tissue, smooth the skin, and diminish dimpled looking areas.

How Does Fascia Blasting Work?

When you are fascia blasting an area of your body you should first warm up the area with a heating pad or hot water. The area can be lightly massaged using your fascia blaster tool. Oil should be applied to the area to ensure smooth contact while you are fascia blasting. The fascia blaster tool is rubbed on the target area of your body in a circular motion. You can focus on one area for between 2-5 minutes and repeat if needed. While you are fascia blasting drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

What Are the Benefits of Fascia Blasting?

Fascia blasting has many benefits and is a great treatment to help with anti-aging and cellulite.

  • Helps to reduce cellulate or dimpled areas of the skin

  • Creates firmer smoother skin

  • Reduces muscle pain

  • Reduces joint pain

  • Helps to increase circulation in the body

What Can I Expect After Facia Blasting?

Fascia blasting may cause redness or inflammation in the target area, or even bruising. This should subside after a few days. Depending on your needs and areas you want to target, will determine if this is the right treatment for you. Fascia blasting can be done two to three times a week, but you should allow for recovery time between treatments. In order to see results, Fascia blasting should be done regularly.
